More Va Va Voom Than You Can Handle: Burlesque in the I.E.
Last weekend was Kitten DeVille and the beautiful Carolina Moon and friends at Back to the Grind. I heard the show was faboo and was sorry I couldn’t make it with my stapled foot and crutches. I will definitely catch the next one.
This weekend, Buckingham Burlesque performs at the Pomona American Legion. I would love to hang out at the American Legion, especially for a burlesque show.
AOL’s city guide for Los Angeles lists their top 11 burlesque attractions, which I thought were all in LA but if you look a little closer, half are in Las Vegas and some in New York.
The best of all is Dita Von Teese. I would love to see her. She is absolutely beautiful. She had a local show a while back, which I missed. I probably broke or injured something back then too. I’m a regular Johnny Knoxville sometimes. Anyway, she has a couple of private shows coming up this week, in France and Italy. She will be in Las Vegas, as a guest judge for the Crazy Horse, March 3rd – 6th. Who knew that it was so prestigious? Apparently, it is a BIG deal to be chosen as part of the Crazy Horse dance troupe. You’ve got to have it all – formal dance training, a certain look and natural sophistication. Not sure what all of that means, but then again, I’m not a burlesque dancer.
For all you ever wanted to know about burlesque, get your curvy ass to the Tease-O-Rama convention. This year’s dates haven’t been announced yet but it was in October/San Francisco last year. Maybe it will be closer this year.
Meow Meow: The Swankest Burlesque Show Is Here!
Just reminding you not to miss our very own local gal Carolina Moon in her burlesque debut this Saturday at Back to the Grind. This promises to be a very exciting event and tickets will be scarce. Can’t wait to see you Morgan, Kitten and everyone else!
