Swine Flu Watch!! 8 Confirmed Riverside Co. Cases
For the most up-to-date news on Riverside swine flu cases, check out the county’s swine flu news page at http://news.co.riverside.ca.us/swineflu/. As of May 2nd, there were eight confirmed cases and four school closures. Notable is that the school closures have been extended to 14 days, as recommended by the CDC because children are likely to be infectuous seven to ten days after onset of illness.
One of the closed schools is right around the corner in the Jurupa Unified School District. Mission Bell Elementary School will be closed until May 13th.
If you know someone in prison and plan on visiting, state prison officials have halted all visitation and activities because of a probable case of an inmate with swine flu at Centinela State Prison. Only critical and legally mandated visits will continue for the time being.
