So Sad

Thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Charles Still, the bodyguard and friend to Travis Barker, who died in a plane crash last Friday night.  Barker, DJ AM, Still and three others were flying out a South Carolina airport before midnight on Friday.  The plane was not able to take off correctly and crashed, taking the lives of four, and leaving only Barker and AM alive and severely burned.  Still was a Riverside resident and went to Centennial High School in Corona.  He met Barker when he was still in high school and became his friend and then bodyguard.  So tragic.

Check Out the Catacombs!

How exciting!  The much-rumored catacombs will be a part of the Ghostwalk tours in October.  I have heard a few long time Riverside residents talking about them and even  have read a little about them.  I never thought I might have the opportunity to (legally) see them but here’s my chance.  In addition to their regular walks, Ghostwalk Riverside will be offering a new tour under the Mission Inn.  It is going to be $100 for a VIP ticket, which includes the “rarely seen” catacombs and a cocktail party.  I wonder if they will allow cameras on the tour.  There will be 6 chances to see them this year, with three tours of 24 people on October 24th and 25th.  The other new tour will be a downtown trolley ride for young children.  The regular tour is $10 per person.

Have you heard about the catacombs or know someone who has even been down there?  I want to hear all about it.  I’d love to read more about them as well.
